Shane joined OCG in 2009, as GM of the Wellington business. Prior to that he led the local Manpower business, a role in which he was responsible for the implementation of Manpowers first full service RPO in Australasia. In addition to leading search and executive recruitment businesses Shane also brings broader experience in OD and HR management to the table.
As a leader and commercial manager Shane believes that the foundations for success are built on the quality of people and partnerships, he takes pride in the commitment of the OCG team across NZ to live the values. Something that can be seen in their commitment to doing the right thing, rather than the easy one, putting the team, candidates and clients interests before the interests of individuals and living authentically, both within and outside of the workplace.
Drawing on over 20 years’ experience working in, and leading recruitment businesses Shane understands that to get the big picture right you have to take care of the fundamentals, it’s a team event, building an engaged workforce that feels empowered to make the right calls for their clients and candidates. The confidence to innovate and adapt comes with a sense of personal engagement and commitment which needs to be fostered at a leadership level.
Outside of the workplace Shane enjoys reading for education and relaxation, chasing his teenage harrier son around the streets to keep fit and the occasional glass of good red wine.
